NY Congresswoman Yvette Clarke was in Atlanta over the weekend of July 11th, 2010 as part of her re-election campaign.
Although she represents New York's 11th Congressional District, Yvette has many friends and supporters in Atlanta.
A fundraising party was held on Sunday at the Sandy Springs home of Elaine and Gregory Bryan.
Yvette's district includes much of central Brooklyn, including Brownsville, Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Flatbush, Kensington, Midwood, Prospect Heights, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens and Park Slope. Clarke was formerly a member of the New York City Council, representing the 40th council district in Brooklyn.
Yvette's mother, Una Clarke, is a former representative of the 40th City Council District in the New York City Council and the first Caribbean-born person to serve on it. She is originally from the parish of St. Elizabeth in Jamaica.
